JADE STRING QUARTET - The Beauty of Sound with Birdsong

Auckland's Jade String Quartet returns with a programme of sweet Mozart, stunning Schumann plus an exciting new work by NZ composer Janet Jennings based on the birdsong of extinct NZ birds. The Quartet is comprised of Miranda Adams and Charmain Keay (violins), Robert Ashworth (viola) and James Yoo (cello).

Showcasing music for cello and piano from the UK, China and NZ, the virtuosic duo brings a colourful assortment of soundbites for the first half, followed by a larger Romantic sonata by Brahms for the latter half of the programme.
HENRY WONG DOE - Great Masterworks

After 15 years making a name for himself abroad, .concert pianist Henry Wong Doe undertakes a rare return to his homeland in 2024. He will perform a compelling programme of some of the great masterworks by Haydn, Chopin, Ginastero and Mussorgsky as well as a newly commissioned work by a New Zealand composer.

NZ TRIO - Triptych 3 - Untamed Hope

Brilliance and fearlessness shine in these impassioned and powerful works. Starting with Fanny Mendelssohn's magnificent 'Trio in D Minor, we then move to the contemporary power of Joan Tower's 'Trio Cavany' followed by a new commission from Kiwi composer Eva Bedggood. We conclude the musical odyssey with Ethel Smyth's impassioned piano trio.
DON COSTA QUARTET *

Portuguese, Italian, British-born pianist Don Costa has assembled an all-star band of New Zealand musicians who will showcase his original compositions and Latin-influenced jazz piano style. Bringing his cutting-edge music to NZ, Don will perform alongside some of the finest jazz musicians in the country - Bill Martin on tenor saxophone, Umar Zakaria on double bass and Carl Woodward on drums.
